Recommended Reports

Missing Bill Report

  • What it does - This report shows bills that are deemed to be missing from the Bill Entry page. The report looks for blank "Start" or "End" dates and/or any months identified as an estimate. If a bill is identified as an Estimate, you'll notice an "X" in the "Estimated" column.
  • Why it's great - The Missing Bill report is an excellent tool for double-checking your data entry. It will show you if you have any missing bills in your data. This would be a great report to set up as a saved action to generate routinely.
  • Where to find it -
    • Click on Report in the Actions menu, and then click on Missing Bill.
    • Enter the criteria for your report, making sure to select Excel in Step 7.

 

Building Use per Square Foot

  • What it does - The Building Use per Square Foot report generates a bar graph comparing usage by the unit of measure for a single building, multiple buildings, or all buildings on a square footage basis. The comparison can be made for a single month or all months in a given year.
  • Why it's great - The Building Use per Square Foot report is a good way to rank your buildings by usage. The report allows you to compare and contrast total usage for like-size buildings to determine if their usage is similar or different.
  • Where to find it -
    • Click on Report in the Actions menu, and then click on Building Use Per Sq Foot.
    • Enter the criteria for your report, making sure to select Excel in Step 10.

 

KBTU/Cost Report

  • What it does - This report generates a Pivot Table that displays the Building, Utility Type, Meter Type (including Submeters), KBTU, KBTU/Area, Cost, and the Cost/Area of energy for multiple buildings. *Note: Accounts that are measured in units of energy like Electric, Natural Gas, and Fuel Oil are converted to a uniform unit of measure called KBTU. Non-energy accounts like Water, Sewer, and Trash cannot be converted to KBTU and are not included. 1KBTU = 1,000 British Thermal Units.
  • Why it's great - The KBTU/Cost report is an excellent report because it strips out all utility types that are not energy related and calculates the total cost and KBTU, as well as the cost per square foot and the KBTU per square foot.
  • Where to find it -
    • Click on Report in the Actions menu, and then click on KBTU/Cost By Building.
    • Enter the criteria for your report, making sure to select Excel in Step 8.

 

Global Building Use/Cost by Utility

  • What it does - This report shows the Total Use and Total Cost for each building by single or multiple utility types and years as a Pivot Table in Excel. From the Pivot Table you can apply multiple filters to further refine the data.
  • Why it's great - The Global Building Use/Cost by Utility Type is an excellent report option to provide a breakdown of buildings by the total use and cost for each utility type tracked. Great report to help you see the big picture!
  • Where to find it -
    • Click on Report in the Actions menu, and then click on Global Bldg. Use/Cost By Utility.
    • Enter the criteria for your report, making sure to select Excel in Step 9.

 

Global Building Use Summary

  • What it does - This report shows use from month to month by utility type for each building. The report allows you to filter by single or multiple building types, utility types, months, and years.
  • Why it's great - The Global Building Use Summary is perfect for comparing the total usage of your buildings by month for each utility type tracked in UtilityDirect. The report allows you to compare multiple years to one another which is excellent for spotting any alarming usage variances.
  • Where to find it -
    • Click on Report in the Actions menu, and then click on Global Building Use Summary.
    • Enter the criteria for your report, making sure to select Excel in Step 8.

 

Global Building Cost Summary

  • What it does - This report shows cost from month to month by utility type for each building. The report allows you to filter by single or multiple building types, utility types, months, and years.
  • Why it's great - The Global Building Cost Summary is perfect for comparing the total cost of your buildings by month for each utility type tracked in UtilityDirect. The report allows you to compare multiple years to one another which is excellent for spotting any alarming cost variances.
  • Where to find it -
    • Click on Report in the Actions menu, and then click on Global Building Cost Summary.
    • Enter the criteria for your report, making sure to select Excel in Step 8.

 

Account Details by Building

  • What it does - This report is the "Swiss Army Knife" report available in UtilityDirect. The report results include all of the fields available on the bill entry page. If you cannot find a report that will give you what you are looking for, the Account Details by Building report is a comprehensive report that will help you build a very detailed table or graph. The report can only be run for one year at a time.
  • Why it's great - If you can't find a report available in the system to match what you're looking for, the Account Details by Building is a comprehensive report that will help you build a table or graph to meet your needs.
  • Where to find it -
    • Click on Report in the Actions menu, and then click on Account Details by Building.
    • Enter the criteria for your report, making sure to select Excel in Step 10.

 

Weather Normalization

  • What it does - The Weather Normalization report is designed to give users a general estimate of the effect weather has on utility consumption from year to year and a general estimate of any possible utility usage avoided from year to year.
  • Why it's great - This report allows you to see what usage avoidance should have been vs. what it actually is, taking weather into consideration. It takes the % difference between the base year and the evaluation year and applies it to the actual usage between those two years.
  • Where to find it -
    • Click on Report in the Actions menu, and then click on Weather Normalization.
    • Enter the criteria for your report, making sure to select Excel in Step 9.
